eJournal of Public Affairs

This is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary, open-access journal published by Missouri State University and affiliated with the American Democracy Project. The journal is focused on scholarship related to engagement in the public arena and, in particular, to the following themes: considerations of citizenship and what it means to be a citizen, including global citizenship and eCitizenship; Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, problem solving, and leadership related to citizenship and civic engagement; Assessment of civic-engagement projects; and the relationship between social media (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, YouTube) and civic engagement.

Journal of Community Engagement and Scholarship

Journal of Public Scholarship in Higher Education

The Journal of Public Scholarship in Higher Education aims to advance the status and prospects for publicly engaged teaching and research in the academy by showcasing the new disciplinary and/or pedagogical knowledge generated by engagement with the community.


The MERLOT system provides access to curated online learning and support materials and content creation tools, led by an international community of educators, learners, and researchers.  Materials can be added to the MERLOT collection by registered members of MERLOT, and all MERLOT materials are examined or peer reviewed in various ways to ensure that they are useful for the MERLOT community.

Michigan Journal of Community Service Learning

A peer-reviewed academic journal containing papers written by faculty and service-learning educators on research, theory, pedagogy, and issues pertinent to the service-learning community. Site contains abstracts of MJCSL articles and information on subscribing and submitting manuscripts.

Partnerships: A Journal of Service-Learning and Civic Engagement

Partnerships publishes academic articles that recognize that successful engaged learning depends on effective partnerships between students, faculty, community agencies, administrators, disciplines, and more. The articles in this peer-reviewed journal focus on how theories and practices can inform and improve such partnerships, connections, and collaborations. Studies co-authored by faculty, students, and/or community partners; or examining practices across disciplines or campuses; or exploring international networks are all encouraged. This journal, which is published and archived by North Carolina Campus Compact, is free to access.

The International Journal of Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement

This is a journal reviewed and published by the International Association of Research on Service-Learning and Civic Engagement (IARSLCE). It is an online journal dedicated to sharing high-quality research focused on service-learning, campus-community engagement, and the promotion of active and effective citizenship through education.
