Community Involvement

Community partnerships provide the foundation on which service is provided. The Service-Learning Initiative is committed to the creation of partnerships between Ohio State and the community that benefit community residents and build capacity of community agencies and schools to achieve their mission.

Working with Volunteers

The Service-Learning Initiative helps community agencies with the recruitment of Ohio State volunteers using Community Connection. The Community Connection database allows you to:

  • Identify volunteer needs and projects
  • Direct students to sign up for service projects assigned in class
  • Track student volunteer sign-up and hours
  • Recruit students for further volunteer opportunities
